I'll dominate 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.
Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, regularly earning massive paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As both boxers met for the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
